Wisdom Wednesday | Synod on Synodality

AUSCP NewsRoundup

Due to a retreat and scheduled vacation, Wisdom Wednesday is presenting preplanned collections of items for the next several weeks, with a return to the customary style and format on September 13.

Last week, we offered a series of reports on A Pastoral Approach to Gender by Barb Arland-Fye, editor of The Catholic Messenger, newspaper of the Diocese of Davenport. Arland-Fye reports on the work of the diocesan Gender Committee formed by Bishop Thomas R. Zinkula.

This week, we invite you to explore the Vatican documents on the Synod on Synodality – with a major event planned for October this year. The Vatican offers everything from the Instrument Laboris to the list of participants chosen by Pope Francis to a report on events that have happened so far in the 2021-2024 process!

For perhaps an easier read, we invite you to check out the dozens of articles published by the National Catholic Reporter on the Synod on Synodality.

This week we offer a link to a publication never before a part of Wisdom Wednesday. The link will take you to coverage of Pope Francis, the Vatican, World Youth Day and the new Barbie movie. It is “the other NCR,” the National Catholic Register, often with a viewpoint on the right side of things, and it is offered here not with endorsement but with respect.
