Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary TimeJuly 28, 2024We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.(Romans 8:28)

Mutual Support Working Group
The Mutual Support Working Group of AUSCP has become aware of many injustices in our present system, and we have decided to try to raise awareness of the unjust and inconsistent ways priests are being treated. As announced at the June Assembly, we have begun a new project called “Untold Stories that Need to be Told.”These are real life situations that our brother priests are experiencing across the country. We are asking priests to tell their stories so that they can be published in the Sunday E-mail Newsletter. The stories are carefully written to preserve the identity of the priest and his diocese and bishop. Our goal is to increase understanding of how injustice and consequent hurt and destruction of reputation can occur. We encourage each member to invite any priest treated without regard to canon law or denied due process to submit his story. An information page for distribution may be found HERE.************

Despite his situation, as one of the founders of the progressive, APP-like Catholic Priest organization in Ireland, he is still an active member of the groupRegister Now______________FREEDOM TO FLOURISH: HOW DO WE PROMOTE IT THIS ELECTION YEAR?with Mary Novak, Director of NETWORKTuesday, August 6, 2024 7:00-8:30 pm Eastern TimeAs Catholics, we believe that freedom is essential for people to flourish and make moral choices. Many moral choices await us this election year. It is a serious matter when people lack the freedom needed to flourish in life.NETWORK was founded on the connection between the issues that prevent people from flourishing and the duty to address the underlying public policies. This election year, NETWORK is focused on six Freedoms: to be healthy, to care for oneself and one’s family, to participate in a thriving democracy, to live on a healthy planet, to be free from harm, and to live in a welcoming country that supports human rights. All 6 are vital for people to live with the dignity God intended. Learn more about these freedoms and where they are most threatened today. Mary Novak is the first lay Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, founded by Catholic Sisters 52 years ago.REGISTER____________________Catholic Climate CovenantWe invite you to watch the two-hour PBS documentary, Teilhard: Visionary Scientist, and then join us for anAugust 13th online conversation (7:00-8:00 p.m. ET) with distinguished Teilhard de Chardin expert, Sr. Kathleen Duffy, SSJ. Handed a letter from St. Paul to bring to the Romans, this is a question that must have weighed on her heart. Stay? Go? We are not told the end of the story but we assume this benefactor, this woman of means, this woman St. Paul called deacon, answered the call and went and delivered Paul’s epistle to the Romans. Let’s explore this question . . . what does our staying and going mean today . . . for today’s St. Phoebes, in particular, for our young women?Registration link coming soon.We are seeking AUSCP priests to both participate and to be facilitators. If you are willing to be a facilitator, training will be online at your own time. Email office@auscp.org to sign up to help facilitate and receive the facilitation link.
