In the first paragraph of Pope Francis’ Peace Message for January 1, 2019, he states: Offering peace is at the heart of the mission of the disciples of Christ. And this offer is addressed to all those men and women who hope for peace amid the tragedies and violence of human history. The “house” mentioned by Jesus is every family, every community, every country, every continent, in their singularity and in their history; it is first of all every person, without distinction or discrimination. It is also our “common home”: the planet in which God has placed us to live and of which we are called to take care of ourselves with care.
So let this be my wish at the beginning of the new year: “Peace to this house!”.
