Issues and Concerns

Priestly Formation

Church clericalism, immigration and climate change top the list in a survey of issues and concerns by the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests.

Ranked fourth and fifth by respondents were “Formation of Priests” and “Women in Church governance.

Rounding out the top 10 were “Accountability of Bishops,” “Synodality and collegiality,” “Being true to reformed liturgy of Vatican II,” “Roman Missal translation,” and “Selection of Bishops.”

All in all, 36 issues and concerns were identified during the 2019 AUSCP Assembly. A survey was prepared and submitted to all AUSCP members and associated friends. The results were tabulated and reported to the membership in June 2020.
