Today is the 31st anniversary of the Thames River Plowshares action, whereby seven peacemakers were able to enflesh the biblical call of Isaiah and Micah to beat swords into plowshares and begin the process of disarming the USS Pennsylvania, the 10th Trident nuclear submarine, that was docked at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in New London, CT. We hammered and poured blood on the submarine before being taken into custody by the U.S. Coast Guard.
