The Immigration Working Group is active and lively with religious women, priests (order and diocesan), and occasionally lay persons, who participate.
We began this year with a Zoom meeting in November, 2024. Those present agreed that this area of Ecology, Laudato Si’-inspired, is a very large challenge.
Our working group completed the third year of planned activities with three Conversations in the Spirit, using as a model the conversations conducted during the Synod meetings in Rome.
We are involved in the hands-on living, incarnating of nonviolence in various ways from traditional protests, to group liturgies and collaboration with other peace-groups, shepherding our people nonviolently, preaching and writing.
Let us, then, get ourselves back to the US —the divine relationship of the Trinity in Whose image and likeness we humans were created. Amen.
Ten years ago, Pope Francis wrote the first environmental encyclical letter in the history of the Catholic Church. And today, my admiration for Laudato Si’ is stronger than ever. Because its message is needed now more than ever!
