DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends and Readers: \nFor those of you in the Toledo area\, I am giving my second lecture of this academic year on Thursday November 2\, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Center Theater on the campus of Lourdes University. Entitled “The 2023 Synod: Historical\, Theological and Practical Perspectives\,” the lecture will concentrate on providing a context for interpreting the dynamics and results of the historic Synod meeting in Rome during the month of October. \nNo reservations are necessary. General admission is $10 (cash or check only) payable at the door. \nSome points to note: \n\nStudents\, nuns\, priests and persons with financial limitations are welcome to attend for free – just walk into the auditorium.\nNo background notes will be available.\nIf all goes well this lecture will eventually be available on my website: frjimbacik.org\n\nI hope this will provide another opportunity to stay in touch. \nFr. DESCRIPTION:In-person and via Zoom\n\n\n\n\nFrom Sunday\, November 12 at 7:30 pm to Friday\, November 17 after brunch\nLocation:\nFranciscan Retreats & Spirituality Center\nPrior Lake\, MN \n\nAbout The Retreat\n\nThis annual retreat for priests and deacons has evolved over the years to meet the needs for silent reflection\, prayer\, conversation and community.  It includes morning prayer with a reflective conference\, evening prayer\, and Liturgy and a centering prayer session each day.  There is conversation at noon and evening meals\, the rest of the times is silent. \nEach retreatant will have the opportunity to meet privately with a spiritual director to reflect on the daily movements of the Spirit in his life. \nThe retreat will be directed by members of the Loyola staff\, and others\, who are professional spiritual directors and experienced in retreat ministry. The role of retreat director is to support the retreatant in noticing the reality of God’s presence and activity in their life. \nIncluded each day: \n\nIndividual session with a retreat director\nLiturgy of the Eucharist\nGroup centering prayer\nMorning prayer & conference\nEvening prayer\n\nMassage is available upon request for an additional fee\, payable to the massage therapist.
