Jim Bacik:\nFor those of you in the Toledo area\, I am doing my fourth and final lecture of this academic year on Thursday May 18\, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Center Theater on the campus of Lourdes University. The title is “Vatican II was not a failure: It succeeded in empowering the laity.” This lecture will highlight the great contributions baptized women and men have made to revitalize parish life and will suggest ways the Council prompts further efforts to humanize the world. \nSome points to note: \n\nFor the first 100 people attending there will be a free copy of my latest book: “The Catholic Spiritual Journey: Responding to Today’s Challenges.”\nThere is no pre-registration but you can pay $10.00 that evening at the door by cash or check.\nStudents\, nuns\, priests and persons with financial limitations are welcome to attend for free – just walk into the auditorium.\nNo background notes will be available.\nI hope this lecture will eventually be available on my website.\n\nI hope this will provide another opportunity to stay in touch. \nFr.
